Scores of folks who live here say this ghost likes startling unwise folks who come trying to find ghosts in Bridgeport. The spirit of a civil war warrior has been said to have been perceived on one or two instances going for a dip by Fairfield Beach around midnight. Folks say that this spirit could be the soul of a local person who died here in Bridgeport many years ago.
