There was a man who had robbed the Deep River Savings Bank at 141 Main Street on Dec. 13, 1899. once police arrived they shot him in the face, his face was then too disfigured to allow police to figure out who he was because back then identification was not what its is today so he was buried in a Deep River cemetery and was named XYZ because of his unknown name.
