Mystic, Connecticut Ghost Tales | |

Hi;
My wife and I had dinner at the Daniel Packer Inn, Mystic CT, on Sat evening 10-10-09. We arrived at 6:30 PM and were seated upstairs in a small room that had three tables and a fireplace. We were seated at a table for two next to the fireplace and I was facing the doorway that led into the room. It seemed to me that the room was a former bedroom in the oldest part of the building.
Seated at the table, with my back against the wall, I could see a portion of the hall beyond the doorway that led to a restroom to the left, a double swinging door for the staff to access the kitchen below downstairs was opposite the room entryway, and to the right, the hallway led to the narrow stairway down to the second level.
My wife excused herself to go to the restroom about 7pm. Alone at the table, I simply watched the staff coming and going through the double doors out in the hallway. Much to my surprise, in between all of this hustle bustle, I saw a very young girl, dressed in period clothing from 1750 -1850 rush by the doorway and

towards the restroom. Her dress was ''milky'' white, not quite full length, shortsleeves and rather plain, perhaps not unlike what a child would sleep in back in those days. She was about 4-6 years old and had brown hair not quite shoulder length that curled inward toward her neckline. She moved very quickly as if she was in a rush to get somewhere.

It all happened with in the flash of a second or two, at most.
I knew immediately this was a spirit. It had a three dimensional quality but I could clearly see it was not a normal living child. I knew I had ''seen a ghost''.
Prior to our going to the Inn, we were at our boat located in the Mystic River Marina. My wife had mentioned we were going to the DPI for dinner, and one of our fellow boaters mentioned to her the Inn was reportedly haunted, but my wife never mentioned it to me.
So, when she returned from the restroom, she was, to say the least, very surprised when I described to her what I had seen while she was away from the table. She then told me that our fellow boaters were telling her of hauntings at the DPI.
Our waitress overheard our conversation and was quite taken back herself. I described the little girl I saw to her and she immediately had another staff member come to our table to have me describe what I had witnessed to her. Upon completing my description, the staff person said ''Oh you met Aida. ''

I explained to her the girl never looked at me because she was in a rush when passing by the doorway heading toward the restroom. It was indeed a fleeting glance, but I got enough of an undisturbed look at ''Aida'' that it was an unmistakable sighting of a spiritual entity. Of this, I have no doubt in my mind.
