Comment by anonymous: Native Americans battled there and many spirits are on that property.
Comment by Elizabeth: Yes the gardener committed suicide there when Mr. Mosel went back on his promise to give his faithful gardener the mansion in his will. Instead Mr. Mosel sold the mansion to turn it into the inn. Ollie felt he was cheated out of the mansion and leapt to his death off the roof in 1980.
The New London Day archives should have the whole sordid tale.

I was on the highway bridge and felt someone push me and I almost fell in the water. My family asked me what was wrong and I said someone pushed me. The exact feeling I felt was a cold hand touch me and it felt dark and possessed.
