I lived in a large victorian House with a ''widows watch'' Tower built in the 1800s. There was a fire & the back of the House burned down approx 1905. I don't know if anyone perished in the fire? Buti am sure over the years people had died in the house. I loved the House because it was where I grew up & lots of memories. I never saw a ghost but there were lots of strange     noises over the years & you Felt like you were not alone. From 1963 to 1979 when we moved there was always an uneasiness in that house. I never realized it until we sold it & moved .. Even in a strange new House I Felt a weight had been lifted off me & never slept so well!!.
