I am from Putnam and have been here pretty much all my childhood. I have since left, as we all do. I come back to visit friends and family. When I do come back I always go the St. Mary Cemetery to visit my friend Lynn's grave. I tell her my life stories; you know the things you talk about in a grave yard. In 1996 a friend of mine drowned at Alexander's Lake, he is also buried in St. Mary's. I helped raise money to get him a head stone. We had a huge

benefit concert at Joker's. It was amazing how the community and business pitched in, and with the help from Mr. Whipple we were able to do so. I left

before I saw the head stone. I knew the area where he was buried but was never able to find it when I came home last year.
I went home to spread my mother's ashes and did my yearly visit to St. Mary's. I sat and talked to Lynn for a bit and got back in the car, and I was pulled to find John's grave. I drove to the back of the cemetery, parked the car, and walked up to a cluster of head stones. I found his stone; I had to laugh at the funny sayings
