Buxton, Maine Ghost Tales

The ghost of a youthful cowboy can every now and then be seen in a metal boat on Bartlett Pond shuffling orbs about.

The spirit of a copper-miner has often been observed dragging a body from the cold water of Bartlett Brook in the early morning hours. Folks here declare that
 
    this ghost is almost certainly the undeceased ghost of a local resident who used to have a house here in Buxton.

The phantom of a gentleman dressed as a gardener is repeatedly spotted watering plants in the front yard of a trailer in Buxton. A local person declares that this phantom is the stressed spirit of a former Buxton local resident.

A
  female with a fairly transparent body has purportedly been made out on a small number of instances gazing at the water by Bar Mills Dam late in the night.

The ghost of a gentleman dressed in a sheriff outfit may regularly be noticed covering a body by a large rock in Salmon Falls East Historic District at night. One of the local residents determinedly claims that this ghost is that of a local resident who settled here in Buxton some time ago.
