Portland, Maine Ghost Tales I have taken pictures over different time periods of orbs in the west end  during the evening hours. I have never felt a menacing presence when these are present. Just the opposite. The west end in particular is full of old spirits. Things take place in this town that cannot be explained by science. A number of people who live here say there are no ghosts, but the ghosts of Portland are out tonight trying to locate someone to freak out. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A feminine shape can occasionally be spotted in Back Cove Historic District at midnight covering a dead body by a large boulder. The ghost of a guy gripping a sword has often been seen down beside the water at Back Cove looking angrily at the eye witness. Locals       here who have distinguished this ghost say this ghost is the ghost of a vacationer that was murdered while traveling through Portland some time ago. A lady with maggots crawling out of her eyes has been said to have been seen on one or two instances glugging down water from Presumpscot Falls at night. One thing is for sure, it undoubtedly is   a frightening phantom that should be avoided. The phantom of a lady with a stiletto in her head may often be made out at Clark Pond Dam at night enjoying the surroundings. A woman with the head of a beast may be noticed very often in the middle of Anthoine Creek digging a nook. A woman carrying her head underneath her arm is now and then witnessed conducting a directed excursion of Fish Point Ledge to a party of ghosts at midnight. The ghost of a youthful female dressed in a blood-splattered prom dress has purportedly been observed on a handful of instances in a deserted neighborhood close to Portland. A man who lives here asserts that this ghost is that of a local person who existed here in Portland long ago. Either way, this is an unlikable phantom that is better not interrupted. A headless female can every so often be made out on the summit of Barren Hill very late at night glancing at the view. The ghost of an adolescent girl was perceived gulping chlorine beside a bloodcurdling big tree in Falmouth Town Forest. The bystander was terrified and fled.
