Charlton, Massachusetts Ghost Tales | |

I am not really reporting this, because I am not 'truly convinced' at this point. My wife and I live in a VERY old house in Charlton, MA. This is a second marriage for both of us so I have only lived here a few years.
My wife swears this place is haunted (or was), but a spirit named Elizabeth Mower. This 'ghost' apparently spooked some construction workers who have worked on the house before I met her.
I never believed her, but had one occasion where I was doing work on the home where 'stange things' happened. I just shook it off and went back to work.
I dont know if this 'qualifies'.

Some of the deceased don't want to stay in their graves in this settlement. Not everyone believes in the accounts the residents tell, but frightening things certainly occur here in Charlton at night.

murdered while driving through Charlton long ago.
The ghost of an elderly man with a long white mustache may repeatedly be spotted by Alder Meadow trying to find something. One of the residents
determinedly alleges that this ghost gets pleasure from scaring foolhardy people who are brave enough to disturb the serenity in Charlton.
A woman with a sword sticking out of her head may be spotted
very often in Spencer State Forest before sunrise gathering sticks to make a fire. Regardless of what, this spirit certainly is terrifying; one that any commonsensical person wouldn't wish to encounter.
The
ghost of a female with a sack fastened around her head has every now and then been noticed by Ashworth Dam after midnight gazing at the water.
A semi translucent guy dressed as the captain of a
boat is occasionally perceived strolling through a residence in the neighborhood of Charlton. Several of the folks who live here argue this ghost loves terrifying unwise folks who come trying to find
ghosts in Charlton.
A large terrifying phantom is known to have been made out on several occasions at a public phone in Charlton making a phone call.
The ghost of a strapped up gentleman
may from time to time be made out mid stream in Cohasse Brook trying to grip something.
The ghost of a street bum was witnessed burying a cadaver by a big rock in Central Mills Historic District
late at night. There have been many stories concerning this ghost in the neighborhood.
The ghost of a young-looking lady covered in blood materialized marching through a Charlton neighborhood graveyard.
Many accounts of this ghost have been described. One thing is for certain, this is an unfriendly ghost that you shouldn't go trying to find.
The spirit of an elderly hag was distinguished moving
orbs around by the side of a deserted highway in the vicinity of Charlton after midnight. Further folks around here have had equivalent happenings with a very similar ghost.
A woman's body having
a bear's head came into sight spending time in a deserted home in Charlton. This ghost is incredibly active in this area; there have been numerous additional sightings of this individual ghost.
A
guy with the head of a goblin was spotted at the entrance to Bigelow Hollow State Park turning toward the bystander. The watcher ran away immediately after she saw the phantom.
A female in flames,
gripping a gas bottle was distinguished standing by a secluded highway outside Charlton. When the bystander showed up the ghost escaped. Any which way, it's a scary ghost that should be kept away from.
