Dedham, Massachusetts Ghost Tales June 17,09 My husband and I were driving into our garage area at or around 2am when we both witness a tall ghost like figure standing in our yard. It looked like a man wearing overalls but was circled with fog. My husband called the police from his cell phone and we waited till they arrived. At which time we entered the yard to find our lower fence gate broken. We went in our home at 3am after police left. As we were getting ready for bed I looked out my bedroom window and could see where the broken gate was lying and fog was filling the opening of the gate. My husband dressed then went out side on our deck take a photo of the fog and I called the police again. They returned within minutes only to explain to us there were other sightings of this fog like man in Dedham. Submitted by Jean       Categories: home, fog Tall dark man seen in Late spring early summers. Believed to be a blacksmith from the early 1880's working at a race track in the Dedham Manor. He has been seen walking in and out of       yards for many years. They say he is looking for wagons. For many years around the July 4th, there have been many wagons stolen from people in the Manor. They are found burning in the street. The blacksmith is said to be behind these burning because his wife had run away with the owner of the horse track in a wagon.Be watching for him in July. The ghost of a guy sporting a law enforcement uniform has every so often been witnessed staring at the waves by the shore at Harvey Beach around midnight. One of the local residents decisively declares that this ghost is the tormented soul of a long gone Dedham resident. The ghost of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead is once in a while observed scrambling out of a storm drain on a Dedham street at midnight. The spirit of an elderly man with a huge gray mustache has allegedly been witnessed on one or two occasions at Alder Brook on a dark night flinging boulders into the flowing water. A number of of the people here claim this ghost is the ghost of a vacationer that was murdered while traveling through Dedham in the past.
