until 3 a.m. Some of their cameras had been turned backwards toward the walls. When I introduced our daughter to one of the team, his cross fell off his neck the moment he shook her hand. We were so glad to move when it finally came time to leave. I was a true believer after what we experienced!.

I was stationed as a Law Enforcement Specialist at Hanscom AFB back in 1989. I was working the back gate on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon on my third swing shift of our schedule. I know it was the weekend because traffic was very slow. All of a sudden, traffic picked up to weekday levels. The girl working the main gate had shot herself. I believe her name was Bridget. Really weird things started happening in and around that gate shack afterward. I had only been there about two weeks and barely knew her, but my supervisor still asked me if I'd be ok working the night shift at that gate the following night. Several street lights went out, centered around the gate shack.
I remember that I used to keep the gate shack lights turned off, and I was outside checking someone's ID when it happened. Both of our eyes got really big. I took a step back and reached my hand inside the door to flip the switch, but we had no power. I could see buildings through the trees and other light poles a ways down the street in either direction that still had power. I stood outside for thirty minutes until the power came back on. The phone would ring and when people would answer it, it sounded like a really bad connection where the voice on the other end was coming through faintly and garbled. This happened to me several times.
Supposedly, and I say this because I find it odd that they did this, the fire department had run their hose through one of the windows to wash out the blood and didn't think about the two doors to the shack opening inward, so they had to wait until the water slowly seeped out to be able to open them. Call it swelling if you like, but at seemingly random times, whoever was working the gate would go to open the door, and it wouldn't budge for upwards of a minute. Of course, we'd open and close the door several times and it not so much as rubbed the frame. People attributed this to the flooding of the shack by the fire department. We were allowed to have radios to listen to, and the reception would fade in and out and/or another station would talk/play over the station you were tuned in to. One of the guys on another shift would say nasty things to the ghost anytime something weird took place. I attribute the event to the wiring getting messed up (assuming the fire department flooding really happened), but he swore up and down that the small wall unit in the back of the shack ''exploded'' right after he made fun of her song selection when his radio changed stations on him. The unit was visibly charred, but I figured it was more an electrical popping sound from a short that he heard.
I personally never saw an apparition or witnessed anything move on its own accord, but the door refusing to open, the radio weirdness, the one-time black out only I experienced. The creepy phone calls were a common occurrence for a while. The girl that moved into Bridget's dorm room complained about her bed shaking like someone just sat down on it and seeing a transparent reflection pass by the mirror on the wall. I had been told that she had just come back from a bathroom break and had gone back to her room just before killing herself. People speculated that she did in fact use the bathroom, passing by the mirror and probably sat down on the bed to write the suicide note she left on it.
