The stretch of Route 3 a that parallels Crescent Street where there are now multiple filling stations once ran through a marshy field known as spirit pasture. In Colonial times the swampy pasture was feared and travelers claimed it was home to ghosts witches and hobgoblins.|
A judge once heard foul screams in the night and upon investigation found a horse trapped in rocks in this location and used his find as a reason to debunk the local myths that
surrounded this stretch of land.|

The Kingston Bay ghost is not very well known but it is real nevertheless. It's the ghost of a young sailor who fell overboard and drowned. His body washed up on gray's beach and that's where he haunts to this day.
If you see him you know it's him. He's a young man dressed as an old day sailor. Take a good look at him if you see him because he vanishes within seconds and you are very lucky if you get to see him once in your life.
I saw him a few years ago and I haven't seen him since. I hope I get to see him again one day but even if I don't I consider myself lucky to have seen him once.
