Back in the 1950's when I was about 12 or 13 my mother her sister my cousin and myself spent a few days on the Island one summer. We stayed at what was then called a ''guest house'' on West Chester st. And I believe the owners were a couple by the name of gifford. One afternoon we were all heading out of the house when I decided that I needed to     go back to our room for a scarf to wear while I went bike riding. When I got up to the room and went toward the Bureau I suddenly Felt a presence there with me watching me. There was a very threatening feeling in the room and I got very frightened. I grabbed the scarf out of the drawer and literally flew down the stairs two at a time. It was a really creepy experience and although I never had another one like it and never think about ghosts etc. I never forgot the feeling in that room so Many years ago.
