Comment by Fran: I grew up in Walpole; I swam in the pond, fish there, I saw nothing in 70s. Never heard about hit and run, but I'll check it out that's for sure. I live in a real haunted house in Attleboro, MA so I believe in ghost.
Comment by Laura: Are you sure this is true? I've been doing a ton of research and can't find a speck of evidence about Clark's Pond. However, interestingly enough (and I could see how the two could be confused and mixed up / turned into an urban legend as the years go by) there ''was'' a body dumped in ''Turner'' Pond in Walpole. In the 1960s a man shot another man, tied him to a cement block, and hid him in the pond. There was an element of a vehicle involved as according to court records. The police pulled him over that night and found him with the man's bloody clothes, rope, and other evidence. The body wasn't found for over a month. There should absolutely be records if a body was found in Clark's Pond, and I can't find any. Let me know if you have more info. I'm very interested in historical events like this.
Comment by Fran: The body in Turner's pond was in early 1980s.
