According to the people who live here, this phantom is the phantom of a visitor that was killed while passing through Center Ossipee many years ago. A figure with a skeleton face wearing dark robes was perceived pulling a cadaver over the grass in Lords Hill Historic District after midnight. When the ghost was perceived it faded away into the air. Whichever way, it is in all certainty a terrifying ghost that is better not upset. A wandering ghost has repeatedly been seen in Pine River State Forest at midnight collecting wood. The ghost of a young Indian warrior is often witnessed mid stream in Bearcamp River grasping a headbone.
