Custom Search Effingham, New Hampshire Ghost Sightings Effingham PAGE 1   2   3     Nearly 20 years ago my mother encountered a ghost in Effingham and to this day I look for the little girl when I drive past the tiny churchyard where she was spotted.  On a rainy summer day in the early 1990s, my mother and a friend were returning from the annual trek to North Conway for their summer shopping spree.  As they drove past the tiny old church and unkempt graveyard, they were surprised to see a young girl near     the back wall of the cemetery.  She appeared to be no more than 6 or 7 years old, and oddly, unaccompanied.  My mother's first thought was that a parent should not allow such a young child to be playing alone in such a secluded place.  Putting the thought out of her head, Mother and her friend returned home with their treasures and unloaded the car.  After about an hour they decided it was time to go pick up something for dinner.  On the way back past the little church and it's lonely cemetery, they noticed the young girl still in the same area.  Startled, and   (continued on the next page...)
