I remember this - I also remember how in that exact same room a baby's life was saved just prior to the ceiling falling on the baby's bed. Wow - you brought some memories.|

Comment by Marsha: That baby was my daughter at 16 months of age in 1983. After taking an afternoon nap in the room she refused to sleep there that night. She screamed every time we tried to put her in the crib. When we switched rooms she went to sleep with no problem.
In the morning we were told to go look in our original room. That's when we saw that the ceiling tiles had fallen down right where the crib had been.
There are many stories and encounters reported by community members employees and others that surround the FitzWilliam Inn. Having some history with the location I firmly believe these reports and have encountered paranormal activity there myself.
Recently the inn got some new owners and is open for business. I wish they would explore the possible paranormal side of their business. Marketing research has shown that ghosts are good for business.|
The Amos J. Blake House Museum--which is right across the street--was featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters. Regardless of any ghosts the inn is a wonderful example of a historic New England inn and has excellent food and accommodations.
