Here is a sighting that you probably never heard of, but here it goes: back in 1967 when I was 14 years old I saw a ghost on the corner of Wallace Street and Hamilton Street, Bloomingdale. One evening when I was hanging out late with a friend at her house and walk home to my house.
I went straight into to my house and went straight upstairs to my bedroom. I was reaching out from my bed to turn on my TV which was by the window on the Wallace Street side of our house and I heard something.

I looked out the window and there was a white figure of a man. He had a cane, he wore clothes like back in the 20s, top hat and the sound of his shoes which got my attention sounded like he had clets on them.

I watch for a while, then nora's cooks dogs started barking and the man walk down Wallace Street to Orchard Street the dogs where still barking until the white figure of the man got to Orchard Street under the street light the dogs stopped barking.
This is when the man's figure turned black. In that time, I was terrifed, I went downstairs to get my mother to see it, he was gone. I will never ever forget this. As I was doing the family history and I looking at a book about Bloomingdale, I knew who it was.
It was Mr. Ryerson, he owned a lot of property at one time there. It was him probably looking over his property. He had on the same clothes in the picture in the book that I saw on the figure that night.
