I've lived in Closter almost all my life, and have had MANY many ghost sightings (in my house, and the house of friends). About 2 to 3 years ago I began seeing a young girl wearing a pink dress. Thankfully I wasn't the only one to see her. The first sighting was in my house; my cousin and I walked in and as we passed through each room, the light surged and went out. There was a black and white image of a girl on the TV and she was speaking... we were all (understandably) freaked out and changed the channel, only to have the same voice coming from the speakers. That was the only scary time, but we all

sensed her presence for months after that, and things would begin to drop or we'd hear tapping in different parts of the house. One night I sensed her presence and saw a misty haze, about 2 feet tall,

pass from one end of the room to the other. The creepiest part was that my dog lifted his head and followed it as well. Around the same time, one of my friends who lives across town began having similar sightings, which were even more intense when we were together. It turns out that our homes were once located on the same stretch of land. One of our friends, a medium, sensed her as well when we were together and we were able to put the story together. This town has so much history and so many energies that still linger...

a 4 family home, previously a school, on Durie Ave in Closter NJ. There were 2 known ghosts. I often wonder if the place was ever investigated and who the entities were.

Not
everything in Closter, New Jersey is as it seems; this town has frightening secrets masked in the dark. There have been many incidents with things from another zone. Disbelievers don't have faith in the
local phantom testimonies, but a stay in Closter, New Jersey will make anyone believe.
These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.
A lady with
her head and both arms cut off has regularly been noticed in the center of Anderson Brook hollowing out a cavity. One thing is for sure, it is unquestionably a scary spirit that any sound person wouldn't
want to come across.
A military uniform wandering around with no body in it is frequently seen on the top of Andre Hill in the early morning hours before sunrise examining the panorama.
The
ghost of an appallingly burned female is known to have been observed on one or two occasions in the early morning hours before sunrise stopping by The Palisades.
The ghost of a guy having a name
engraved into his arm can frequently be made out at Alpine Boat Basin at midnight taking pleasure in the vista. One of the folks who live here determinedly claims that this spirit is that of a resident
who had a house here in Closter a long time ago.
The spirit of a badly mangled huntsman hauling a dead coyote has every now and then been witnessed gulping apple juice in Skunk Hollow after midnight. Whichever way, this is an unpleasant ghost that should be stayed away from.
