East Orange, New Jersey Ghost Tales In 2008 my daughter brought a house in east orange, the house was built in 1890. It was an old Victorian style home that has since been converted to a three family.  The first couple of months was very quiet, but after awhile we have had several disturbing incidents.  You always feel as if someone is watching you.There are shadows that move very quickly. Someone is always walking up the steps and there is always knocking in the walls. We were having a summer party and was taking pictures, and in a couple of the pictures you can clearly see an elderly person's face. It's been a couple of years now and I have gotten use to all the activities. They have decreased within the years. I guess the spirits realize that I'm not going anywhere so we just one big happy family. One of the folks who live here definitely asserts that this spirit takes pleasure in startling folks who are brave enough to interrupt the calm in East Orange. The spirit of a young-looking lady outfitted as a maid was noticed sending a letter at an East Orange post office. Further folks in the vicinity have had comparable happenings involving a similar ghost. Any which way, this is an unfriendly ghost that you shouldn't go trying to locate. The spirit of a destitute man is repeatedly spotted struggling to touch something on the shore of Verona Lake. A menacing creature is known to have been witnessed on several instances in Alonzo F Bonsal Wildlife Preserve at midnight dragging a corpse over rocks. The phantom of a gentleman clad as a janitor may be witnessed very frequently terrifying people up on Mayapple Hill. Several of those who live here argue this phantom can be the spirit of a local person who died here in East Orange many years ago.
