Me and about two other friends of mine went to the Estelleville church one night. My two friends had decided to stay in the car to talk while I had gone out alone to investigate the cemetery. I had a cell phone with me that night but had no service. I thought to myself all right then, no problem. As I was walking through I had noticed nothing unusual physically. But mentally and emotionally was a whole other story. I kept feeling sadness but happiness at once and bouts of deep dark hatred and anger here and there throughout the area. I walked around the church about once and the front of the church seemed fine physically / mentally/emotionally, but the back of the church was very odd on two factors. One was that There is a very sandy/grassless area directly behind the church that stretches roughly 4 to 5 feet all the way around in a deformed kind of circle.
When I went to go stand over it I had full 4 bar service on my phone and all sorts of messages came up from contacts in my phone. I thought to myself well that's very weird. Never experienced that before. But the other factor was the freakier part of the investigation. I kept getting a recurrent memory of, what was completely not mine. A rather large crowd of people standing behind the church about 20 feet away from this massive looking old oak tree with massive tree limbs. They were wearing there Sunday best outfits. Men had top hats and sailor looking hats on and women had bonnets on, almost as if it was old-western style in the woods.
Some of the people looked a bit scared, some looked kind of happy and a few looked very sad. But what the memory kept repeating was that everyone had one thing on their mind and were just watching and waiting. What they were watching was a 35-40 year old man that looked like an old time farmer with a scruffy, but not a shaggy, beard who was hanging off one of the massive limbs on a noose that just had the platform beneath kicked from underneath him. I am not sure if it was the crowd that wanted me to know the event or the man in the process of choking to death on a noose. Either way it was strange and freakish. |
The other memory I had was of a funeral procession from the early 1900's heading into the cemetery and the last memory was a bit more real than anything. I could picture an oil lantern and a man holding it from about the mid 1800's walking through the cemetery about midnight or near it as if he was checking up on everything whistling along the way. After that memory that also was not mine I really did hear whistling in the road right where modern day maple ave is off to the side of the church outside of the cemetery. I questioned my two buddies that night if they were whistling, but they for one said no and two the windows were closed. The whistling was harmless though. We left after and went home. It was an eventful night for me and that was about an 1 1/2 almost 2 hours we were there. .|

Comment by Frank: Wow! Same exact type of thing happened to me when visiting the church! The procession I imagine was for young boy who had died of an unknown cause.
