Stirling, New Jersey Ghost Tales You forgot Yagoo who haunts Oak St near the railroad tressle over Millington gorge, the 7 ft escaped slave who supposedly led other runaway slaves along the underground railroad.  There's also ''Amy'', a small girl from colonial times in a long white dress who wanders the Great Swamp. There are lots of ghost stories set in Millington, but I've never seen any ghosts here. . The undeceased are here in this settlement as the       folks who live here will say to you. Doubters don't believe in the local ghost descriptions, but with so many ghosts in Stirling you have a pretty splendid chance of setting eyes on one if you stay overnight   in this town. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. A gentleman that shifted shape into a vampire is known to have been perceived on one or two instances holding a cranium in Black Brook. Some of the people here say this ghost could be the soul of a local person who passed on here in Stirling many years ago. Anyhow, it's undeniably a menacing spirit that you don't want to bump into in the early morning hours before sunrise. A shining human shape may often be perceived sobbing by Great Swamp. It has been alleged that this individual spirit may perhaps be a well-known yesteryear inhabitant of Stirling.
