Vieques, Puerto Rico Ghost Tales Vieques has a very rich history of paranormal activity. The bridge in the La Mina neighborhood of Vieques is said to be haunted. People speak of seeing various ghosts on the bridge itself. The bridge has been the sight of many fatal traffic accidents through the years. Among the tales is that of a woman who waits at the top of the bridge. Motorists say they stop for the woman. She will climb into the vehicle and by the time they've reached the other side of the bridge she has disappeared. As you make your way south from the La Mina bridge towards the Esperanza neighborhood, you will come across La Casa de el Frances (The Frenchman's house). This is an old plantation house that was converted to an Inn for many years. The house now sits abandoned. This house has a large stone monument on the grounds this monument is said to be the place where the Virgin Mary walked the grounds. The house has also been the site of various entities have been seen roaming. Further along your trail of Vieques you will find a private home in the Puerto Real neighborhood.       This is a magnificent home. The home is also an old plantation house. The phantom of a dentist with a bloody uniform has from time to time been made out in Munoz Rivera Plaza in the early morning hours startling people. The ghost of a man gripping a blood-covered knife is sometimes perceived at Bahia Corcho at the stroke of midnight gazing down into the water. The ghost of a civil war fighter has been seen on a handful of occasions in Arrecife Corona at midnight crying out names of people. The spirit of a guy with a word engraved into his forehead may every now and then be seen at Blue Beach taking a late-night swim. The spirit of a badly mangled hunter hauling a dead cougar is often made out up on the top of Cerro Amargura gazing crossly at the eye witness. Based on what the residents claim, this ghost is possibly the undeceased ghost of a person who used to live here in Vieques.
