Westerly, Rhode Island Ghost Tales Next to the field across Manfredi Farms is Pound Road. Once you pass the first two houses, you reach turn, and the street dissapears into the darkness. If you continue going down, you'll eventually see a light, and as you come closer-  you'll see an aging old house and a landscape like a Texas Chainsaw massacre scene. It's been rumored that an elderly woman once lived there who had shot at people who dared to go past her house, and bodies were found in the houses basement. If the barrels aren't blocking the road, it continues down and again on your left is a bus, overgrown with vines and cracked windows (it will haunt you) and if you take the right at the fork, you'll wind up in a car graveyard. Prepare to get lost and practice keeping your cool, the farther you go, the harder it'll be to get out. Submitted by Westerly resident       Categories: road, home On the night before Halloween- right at midnight, you can see a screaming woman coming out of the waves right in front of Paddy's.  She is       old fashioned and is screaming for her baby. Some people say that she is from a ship wreck that went down off of the coast of block island.  Many people have witnessed this. She is carrying a baby too and has long hair and a long dress.  She is very very upset. Submitted by Halloween ghost lady       Category: lady On   Sunday Sept 28th at approximately 745 at night. I was walking my dog on Napatree Point to see the big surf from hurricane Ike. It was dark and getting foggy, the pounding surf was loud and the waves wear coming in almost up to the dunes. When we were about 100 feet from the end of the point there seemed to be a fisherman wearing old fashioned yellow foul weather gear. It was hard to see in the dark and fog so we walked closer to see if it was really a person. He was standing on the rocks at the end of the point in a place I found rather odd, do to the fact that the waves were big and dangerous and that it was not a good place to fish. My dog and I stopped about 50 yards away still trying to figure out if it was really a person or not. I began to feel an eerie feeling and the fact that my dog didn't even acknowledge the man or the fact that he didn't look up at us even though I positioned myself on the beach so he would see us. The next day (today sept 29th) we walked out there again just to see if there was something out there I could have mistaken for a person. There was nothing there and the feeling that something was just not quite right was gone as well.
