Skeptics don't have faith in the local phantom accounts, but there beyond doubt are menacing things going on here in Barre during the moonlight hours. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of an aged prospector with a large mustache and a hook instead of his hand was noticed spending time in an empty house in Barre. The bystander became frightened and ran off. The spirit of an aged female grasping a gun was witnessed mounding pieces of wood in Barre Downtown Historic District very late at night. The ghost did not appear to be concerned by the eye witnesses. In any case, it unquestionably is a terrifying spirit that any sound person wouldn't want to bump into. The ghost of a waitress became visible standing by a wild highway in the neighborhood       of Barre. When the ghost was distinguished it faded away into the air. The ghost of a dispossessed man has repeatedly been observed smoking a cigar up on Bartlett Hill. The ghost of a young cowboy is frequently made out being carried by a motorcycle on a gloomy highway close to Barre. The ghost of a silver-miner has supposedly been perceived on one or two occasions gripping a human skull at Berlin Pond Dam on a dark night. A lady with a half transparent body can repeatedly be noticed sniveling in a plastic boat on Berlin Pond. A resident declares that this spirit is that of a local person who existed here in Barre long ago. The ghost of a security guard with a bullet hole in his forehead has occasionally been perceived in a building in Barre.
