The ghost of a lady with a dagger in her neck is every now and then made out in Hastings Swamp at midnight trying to dump a cadaver. Loads of local residents argue this spirit likes frightening folks who are brave enough to disturb the quiet in Gilman.

The ghost of a shackled up lady has been distinguished on a few instances fishing from the shore of Oak Hill Reservoir before sunrise.
