The spirit of a sturdy lumberjack carrying a sizeable axe was perceived shouting at the witness to beat it down near the shore at Beaver Pond. The appearance of the eye witness terrified the ghost who then disappeared. Nevertheless, it is in all certainty a menacing ghost that any sane person wouldn't want to come across. A frightening skeleton has regularly been distinguished by Silver Ledge chucking rocks. Locals who have seen this ghost argue this ghost is the tormented soul of a long forgotten Groton local resident.
