I formerly lived on River road in Newfan Vermont. One morning I went downstairs to watch tv and get changed, I opened the basement door to through my clothes in the hamper and I saw this woman standing at the top stairs of our basement door, she had short brown hair, very thick, she was very tall with light brown hair, and to my surprise she looked just like my mother. I let out a screech of horror, made a run for it and a few

seconds later my mother looked down the stairs and no one was there. My mother quickly searched the whole entire basement, but there was no

trace of anyone being there, or ever being there.

The Four Columns Inn in Newfane is haunted by a female, usually in the front building. The ghost moves towels around and switches the layout of how the housekeepers place the towels. She also flushes toilets, turns on radios, tvs and you can hear her walking up the stairs.
