On a recent visit to Vermont my wife and I were passing through Pittsford, We decided to pull over to stretch and grab a bite to eat. While picnicing behind the church on Arch Street in front of the cemetery I noticed a green minivan pass between the church and an adjacent building, this vehicle turned right on a road heading towards two houses that sat on a hill beyond the cemetery. I noticed that it stopped in a dip shortly after it turned and it stopped. I could still see the top of the vehicle from my vantage point behind the church. Shortly thereafter another vehicle, a small sedan with an older female driver passed me from behind and turned on the same road as the minivan. The top of the minivan was still in sight as the sedan approached it, then the minivan turned left and the sedan followed until both were out of my sight. After finishing my lunch I went down to see where the road they turned onto led. As my wife and I reached the low spot on the road we both looked to the left where I saw both vehicles turn and was awed to find

just an open field with no tire tracks and no sign of the two vehicles. From my vantage point behind the church I would have noticed if the two vehicles ascended the hill towards the two houses. This really shook me! This was my first time in town and very well my last.
