Harrington, Delaware Ghost Tales I own a home on Harrington Ave here in Harrington, DE & have lived here for the last 10 years. I grew up in Felton, DE and lived here in Harrington one summer back in 1993 in an older apartment building. In the few months I lived here in Harrington in '93, there were MANY ''odd'' things that happened in my apartment. I lived with my father and we both experienced many weird things. Objects being moved or missing, radios station changing... it was never really scary though. But one instance during that summer stays with me to this very day. I woke up feeling as if something was breathing on my face       - you know, that feeling you have when someone is right up against your face with theirs... I remember opening my eyes to see this large, neon blue orb floating over my head no more than an inch over   my face. This was 14 yrs ago and I can still see it in my mind... It reminded me of an electric tumbleweed or something. It wasn't until that moment that I felt pure terror. I have never ran so fast in my life. I was abt 15 years old and my dad said he was sick with fear by my reaction - which never happened. We moved shortly after. I am now a wife and mom and live here in Harrington yet again. We moved here abt 10yrs ago. We are the first to live in this home - we had it built. About a year after moving in, I started feeling things around my home at night. It wasn't a scary feeling, but a feeling none the less. Shortly after I started hearing children playing. At first I thought it was my children up playing in the middle of the night so I would go in there to tell them to get back to sleep but they already were. But still, I was never scared. It felt okay... like they were there just hanging out. But one night I went to the bathroom at abt 2 -3 in the morning and felt odd. Hard to describe. Then out of no where there was a voice right behind my left ear shout my name... It felt BAD. Whoever/Whatever said my name WANTED to scare me. And, yes, it worked! I ran my ass so fast to my husband! I felt that same terror I had felt years ago in that apartment. It hasn't happened ever again *knocking on wood* and I haven't heard the children in abt 3 years. I know they are still here. I feel them, but I think I have developed a way of blocking them out. I just hope and pray the dark feeling/spirit does NOT come back! I would love to find out about Harrington's history, but it's hard to find!. Submitted by 2x resident for 10+ yrs There is an unknown thing that travels the stairwell on the B side of this duplex.
