Lewes, Delaware Ghost Tales Me and a few friends go to the beach a few times a week we have had car batteries die for no reason. Weird lights in and around the water. I felt someone touch my back; it got really warm. If you go and build a fire it will burn so crazy, I have seen a few shadow people. Believe me it's haunted. It's surrounded by water why wouldn't it be! It's definitely unusual. It seems many of the businesses and apartments around Second St. are haunted according to the tour guide. Ghosts have been sighted in the window of the historic house across from the cannon balls on the canal. Also on King's Highway, I know of two different people that lived in a house next to the Presbyterian Church that had experiences. My friend lives on Franklin and thinks she has a ghost of a girl who died in the 70's by the name of Mona. No matter what, this ghost undeniably is menacing; one that you wouldn't want to come across on a dark night. A medieval knight's armor lacking a person inside was perceived enjoying the scenery at Burton Pond Dam at night. This ghost is extremely active in this neighborhood; there have been frequent other stories of this individual ghost. The spirit of a woman with a sack fastened around her head came into sight sniveling in the center of Arnell Creek. This is one of those ghosts that is noticed repeatedly in the neighborhood. People here claim that this ghost enjoys frightening foolhardy folks who come searching for ghosts in Lewes.
