The spirit of   a mailman has every so often been perceived under a menacing tall tree in Ellendale State Forest smoking a cigar. People here assert that this ghost is that of a local resident who lived here in Lincoln many years ago. A gentleman's body having the head of a donkey is every now and then observed pulling a body from the chilly water of Beaverdam Branch at night.
