White Lake is a beautiful place just south of Old Forge in the Adirondacks. It was clear cut logged going way back, and then in the late 1800s and early 1900s recreation camps were built here. Some were for families, some for organizations like the boy scouts, and others were retreats that anybody could come to.
We have a private cottage on the Lake. Years ago there was a camp called Camp Iroquois, and a tragedy led to a young boy drowning in the

lake. There are sightings of this boy just around dusk in the water. He can be seen from docks or by people in boats. He looks like he is in trouble.

When people try to rescue him, or draw nearer he disappears. As I said, our cottage overlooks the lake.
One peaceful summer night I was awoken by noises coming from the Lake. My 2nd story bedroom overlooks the water, and I could plainly hear a young boy's voice saying ''help me,'' as well as what sounded like his arms flailing in the water. The moon lit the lake nicely that night, and I could not see any commotion on the calm surface of the
