Researching a ghost sighting in Greenwich at the Episcopal church rectory in the 1970s. Anyone who remembers this please post comments. Thanks.|

Comment by Carol: I too remember this as I lived in Greenwich in the early 70s. There was a story written about it with pictures of the apparition in a newspaper called The Grit-the pastor of the Episcopal Church told of seeing the apparition.
The house that my family lived in on Salem Street was also haunted. We heard footsteps traveling up and down the stairs, objects moved, loud noises in the attic, lights on in certain areas in the house where rooms were closed off/not occupied.
I awoke during the night with what looked like an elderly man leaning over me. My parents found me walking in my sleep on another occasion, something I never had done in the past. Always felt that you were being watched and never alone in the house.
I can't help but feel that there are many more haunted places in Greenwich!.
The Stiles house in town had a murder in it with an ax I believe. It is said to be haunted by a woman and man and one child who were killed. It now servers as a haunted house ride on Halloween in the town of Argyle, I live here.

There is a house on Salem Street that is haunted. The Webster family that lived there for 13 years reported seing a man walk up and down the stairs anytime he pleased. Also in one of the bedrooms a baby was crying and the Mr.
Webster opened the closet door and saw a baby on the floor wrapped in a blanket, the daughter reported waking up to a black cloud over her bed where a sick sweek emitted from it. Also all family members reported what appeared to be whisperings and calling out their names.
