Argyle, New York Ghost Tales There is a house on Salem street that is haunted. The Webster Family that lived there for 13 years reported seing a man walk up and down the stairs anytime he pleased.  Also in one of the bedrooms a baby was crying and the Mr. Webster opened the closet door and saw a baby on the floor wraped in a blanket, the daughter reported waking up to a black cloud over her bed where a sick sweek emitted from it.  Also all family members reported what apeared to be whisperings and calling out their names.  On more than one occasion a man and an old woman would appear to the family.  There where many unexplained       occcurances such as noises and cold spots.  Water faucets would turn on and off, lights would flicker.  It was the most haunted house in Argyle. Ghosts are so standard around here; loads of folks who live here don’t even fret about it any longer. Some folks who live here say these stories are lies, but Argyle is bursting with tormented spirits just waiting to scare you. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The ghost of a youthful gentleman wearing a denim jacket is frequently witnessed up on Barkley Mountain piling pieces of wood. A beheaded gentleman has been said to have been distinguished on many occasions standing by a secluded road next to Argyle. A local woman asserts that this ghost may very well be a well-known old days inhabitant of Argyle. No matter what, this is an unpleasant phantom that should be let alone.
