It is home of the old New York city emergency medical service academy along with the nyfd fire marshals and nypd use the old collaypsing buildings for k9 training. This is a very Old Fort and was used also by the reserves as a base and the us coast guard. Now I think it is a nys Park though. Near the academy there is a barracks that is in bad shape and at times     we were allowed to Park behind it but no one Felt calm there. I workled the nyc Marathon and left from the academy and returned there after midnight. I was alowed to Park behind the barracks in a well lit area but I Felt ill at ease going to the car and getting in. I usually would put my equipment in the trunk and take my time getting in the car but it Felt so eerie I threw the stuff on the passanger seat and took off not warming the car up at all.
