Elmira, New York Ghost Sightings - PAGE 19
(...continued from the previous page)|
Thought we heard a few things but nothing other then that. The weird thing is is that our apps started coming up with words like war and fighting and such. Also started saying names... Random names our names our nicknames last names and just enough to make us wonder if it it was legit or not.
Started hearing other things that the rest of the guys weren't hearing. Almost sounded like horses walking around... That's when it started getting creepy. Got
a bunch of pictures but only one of them has something in it completely unexplained.|
I know that people will say it's just cigarette smoke but none
of us were smoking while in the woods so if it is smoke it's not any of ours.... It's enough to keep us interested and finding actual equipment to go back for an overnight out there to see what we come up with...|

Comment by Julie: I had two great-great grandfathers that were mustered in (for the Civil War) in Elmira. I don't believe any Civil War battles occurred there though. You could check with the Chemung County Historical Museum.
I would imagine that if there was any ghost activity it would be around the Elmira Prison (POW prison during the war). The revolution is a different story. A lot happened around Chemung county.
