The house is haunted. While I lived there, it was impossible to sleep in the dark due to the presence of a spirit that liked to stalk the dining room, attic, and small room in the back on the second floor. I remember waking up and seeing a woman wearing an apron and a scarf tied around her head fanning me.     I woke up and saw a face in the middle of the night, and as a child things would move the bed, couch after I fell asleep. My sister who still lives in Hempstead and remaining family members had similar experiences. Supposedly, prior to my grandmother taking ownership of the house in the forties, an old woman passed away in the house. Things turn on by themselves. The lights will shut off and various sounds like cries, and footsteps can be heard. It is haunted and there are more than a few witnesses.
