Larchmont, New York Ghost Tales | |

I am very familiar with Larchmont since I'm only 16 and I've lived most of my life in New Rochelle. However, I did live for a year or two in a house on Edgewater or Edgewood St or Place. It was near a sort of lake with a bridge going over it? Anyway, I was about 13 when I lived in this house. I lived with my mother, brother, father, sister, and a dog and a cat. It was a pretty normal-looking house when the landlord showed it to us. However, as we were moving in my mother found a charcoal drawing of a man's face in the boiler room. She describes the picture as looking mangled or insane. She threw the picture out and didn't tell anyone in the house for some time, because she (being very into the supernatural) felt an obvious bad influence in the picture. For the first few weeks the family was getting used to the home, and I would often go downstairs into the basement to read a book. However, I slowly began to feel an awful presence in the basement, and then refused to go downstairs alone. Ever. My sister and mother also felt this presence.

The three of us were the only ones in the house with any ties or interest in the supernatural. One day, my friend and I had watched a ghost-hunting television show and decided to take some pictures of my house. In the boiler room, we took 3 pictures, all within a 5-second period. Two pictures came out completely black. One of them depicted violent

orange and red flames on a black background. We took pictures of the living room, and three human forms appeared, one of a man, one of a woman, one of a child. I regret to say I no longer have the pictures. Anyway, after this my mother and I decided to switch rooms, and I took the biggest bedroom in the house. As we were moving my things into her old room and vice versa, my mom came across a box of mementos I kept in my closet. She told me to put the box in my new room and then come back and help her in my old room. I did so, and we were talking for about ten minutes when she noticed the box on the floor. She asked me, ''Didn't I tell you to put that box back?!'' I said, ''But . . I did.'' A few weeks later, I was walking into my new room and saw a silhouette of a person hanging from the tree beside my window. I saw this silhouette behind a shade. I told my mom but she didn't believe me until she went to a physic who told her that a man had hung himself in the house. We soon moved out. Years later, she told me that a cab driver had told her

before moving to the house (she didn't drive and often took cabs to and from her job and the house) that all the residents of that house went insane or became depressed, and that one of them was involved in black magic. While living in the house, I think it's more than coincidence that my sister broke up with her boyfriend, became severely depressed and had to be put on anti-depressants (she was later taken off almost immediately after moving out) My father and mother began fighting excessivly. My brother and his girlfriend (who spent a lot of time in the house) began fighting to the point where she would often barge into the house demanding proof that he wasn't cheating on her with someone she saw in her dreams. I became depressed and threatened suicide often, with no real explanation why. After we moved from the house, we all became peaceful and happy again. Also, it was common knowledge (after some library time) that there was a fire in the house which originated in the boiler room which killed the occupants- a mother, father, and son. I want to know if anyone else has had any experiences like this in the house on Edgewood or Edgewater Street or Avenue or Place?? Please?.
