Ridge, New York Ghost Tales It is said that in the small town of ridge once lived a very rich family. The father use to go horse back riding frequently in the woods near the nature preserve so next time you go in those woods listen for the hooves. The house was mysteriously burnt. Most think it was foul play by the gardener... But no one knows. The family had three children. A boy and two girls. The eldest girl was known to have anger problems and was known to be somewhat mentally unstable. The younger daughter was said to be nice an caring and loved animals. Not much is known about the wife and boy. Coincidence or not: A house in the same neighborhood as marc drive (the location of the huge house) was struck by lightening and the owners found a black cat lingering around and it has not left the house yet. That house is rumored to be the place of the gardener. We believe we have also seen her father. Whenever we think we see the girl, we begin to cry. When we think we see the father, we feel fear. I believe ths is an entity. I fear she is trying to tell us of a dreadful past, we are going to perform another seance. We preform them in my room, it gets soo cold whenever we think   we see her... I think it may be dangerous. The phantom of a lady with a bag fastened around her head has sometimes been made out in Middle Island State Game Farm late at night meditating. If you listen to what the local residents say, this ghost is that of a resident who lived here in Ridge many years ago. A moderately see-through gentleman clad as the captain of a ship is every so often observed startling folks mid stream in Wading River. Residents here who have observed this spirit argue this spirit takes pleasure in scaring foolhardy folks who are bold enough to interrupt the serenity in Ridge.
