Rye, New York Ghost Tales


You could think that Rye, New York is exactly the same as any other settlement in this country, but this is a settlement where the undeceased walk the streets during the moonlight hours. There have been many events with ghosts from another realm. Not everyone trusts in the stories the local residents tell, but not all of the residents of Rye are still alive.

These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently.

    said to have been spotted on numerous occasions reading a newsletter down near the water at Byram Harbor. If you talk to the people who live here, this ghost gets pleasure from startling unwise people who dare to upset the silence in Rye.

A female person can often be perceived gripping a headbone next to the shore at Forest Lake.

The
  spirit of a gentleman hauling a sword may be perceived repeatedly in the backseat of a vehicle by the driver witnessing the ghost in his rear view mirror before sunrise. Scores of local residents claim this phantom could be the spirit of a local resident who passed away here in Rye before the present.

A lady with larvae crawling out of her eye sockets has occasionally been distinguished covering a corpse by a sizeable rock in Bruce Park on a dark night. Locals here claim that this ghost is possibly the struggling ghost of a local person who used to reside here in Rye. Nevertheless, it's a terrifying spirit that you don't want to bump into at the stroke of midnight.

The ghost of a lady with a switchblade in her heart is every so often noticed trying to snatch something in Bluff Island Ledge very late at night.

A lady with the head of a goblin has allegedly been made out on several occasions on the peak of Kennelwood Hill after midnight looking at the vista. A resident claims that this phantom is the stressed soul of a
long gone Rye local. In any event, it undeniably is a bloodcurdling ghost that you shouldn't go trying to locate.
