kitchen. A frying pan had been tossed across the room, but nobody was there. The next was one day when we were hanging out playing video games. We heard a loud crash outside the bedroom door. Outside the door was a shelf with random stuff on it. Everything on the shelf was tossed to the floor, but we were the only ones there.
The last and scariest thing was one night when I was sleeping on the floor of my buddies room downstairs. It was around 4
a.m., and I was dead asleep. The bedroom door was open, and I was awoken to a very loud knocking on the door. I looked up, and nothing was there. I was
shaking in my skin at that point. Those events are what lead me to be a firm believer in the paranormal.|

My story began in 2001 when I and my partner at the time rented an old house in Victor, which is in upstate New York. As we were moving in, there was an old Simple Simon game in a paper bag that hadn't been used in years and the batteries were corroded. For those not familiar with Simple Simon, different colored panels on the game light up. Every time one of us passed the bag, the yellow panel would light. Finally, my partner opened up the back of the game and took out the crusty old batteries and we decided to throw the game away, so she put it back on top of the bag.
The next time she walked by, again, without batteries in it, the yellow panel lit. I didn't really want to think much of it so I brushed it off. Within the next couple of weeks, things really began to ramp up. One day when no one was home I was downstairs; suddenly there were screeching and creaking sounds from the bedroom above me, as of heavy furniture being moved all around the room. Several times I rushed upstairs to see what was going on; nothing was out of place and no one was around. At this time also, everyone in the house started seeing shadows and movement out of the corner of their eyes but when you turned to look, nothing was there.
