The store was on the first floor and the second floor was storage. Quite a few times when I was in there by myself I would be at the desk on the first floor and it would suddenly sound like someone was running the entire length of the building on the second floor. The first dozen or so times it happened I would jump up and run     to the stairs (the Only way up there other than a very securely bolted door used for deliveries). The upstairs would be pitch Black (there were no windows) and there was nobody there when I flipped on the light. After that I just tried to ignore it but it continued all of the years I worked there.
