When we came home I tried to search history of the glen and found that in 1872 a woman was killed by a rock falling.

Comment by Kortanny: I would really like to know where you found this information because I've never heard of a woman being crushed by a rock in the gorge although in 1874 a girl by the name of Eliza Cole slipped on a wet rock and fell head first in the center of the gorge. Body was only partially found, and people have seen her warning people of wet rocks and falling rocks. I would really love to chat with you about this to see if maybe we can uncover what you really saw. Kortanny @gmail.com is my email. Hope to hear back soon.

The old ''insane asylum'' or school was in fact a school that caught fire in the middle of the night long ago no students or anyone was killed in the fire. A local all my life have been to that site many times and as a kid ''investigating'' all the stories.
