West Babylon, New York Ghost Sightings

When I was a child we lived on Arlington Road in my grandmother's house. There were apparitions, and objects were flying across the room. I used to have terrible nightmares. The house has been beautifully renovated, and I often wonder if the house settled down. We moved to Maryland many years ago.

When I was a child I could feel the spirits. I always had an on-edge eerie feeling. Death seemed to be always lingering. I could not explain it, and I never felt that way in any place else I have lived. When I was in second grade, I saw a spirit in our house. He flipped the switch in the bedroom I was in on and off, laughed, and disappeared. I was glad to move when I was ten, although we moved away from dear friends.

A few years later there was a murder in our old house. Twenty-eight years later, after I had my first child, I had the opportunity to research, and I called the current people who lived in that house. I spoke to the young adult child of the owners. He stated that in the same bedroom, I had experienced a ''person'' flicking the lights on and off, he as well, as a child experienced the same phenomenon. He also experienced his name being called in the basement. I let him know that activity predated the shooting death that occurred there. The guy stated that his mother did not like to talk about it. The guy's mother came home, and he gave the phone to her. She indicated they had had an exorcist come out on more than one occasion, and then she hung up. I did not blame her; she still lives there.
