Williamson, New York Ghost Tales

At a place called Steph's Pond (It's a Nudist Retreat) a teenage girl wearing only a T-shirt can be seen wandering the paths looking distaught and confused. People aproach her to ask her if she is ok and she pulls her hair from her face, looks them dead in the eyes, and then disappears. Wittnesses have reported seeing this both in the day and in the night. Inside the cabins visitors will also hear loud banging and noises as if someone is frantically searching through their room, but upon investigation the room is undisturbed and empty.

In East Williamson there once was a beautiful dutch windmill on Ridge Road. It stood at the center of a fork in the road. The mill was first built as the center attraction of vacation honeymoon cabins, which still dot the ajoining property today, as small residental homes. It is said that at one time a honeymooning couple spent the night in the mill. For reasons that are lost to history the bride was found dead in the morning. She is said to have commited suicide by hanging

herself from the large gears in the top of the mill. From that point on the windmill was said to be cursed, and it's blades never again shifted in the wind. It was plagued by fires and hauntings. The ghostly activity was so bad that the structure could no longer serve as a sleeping quarters. It was therefore changed into a gift shop, but eventually
the business fell apart. Over the decades since, several drivers have missed the turn in the road at night and crashed into the building. In at least three different accidents, three different drivers lost their lives on the site. When the windmill decided to claim a victim, no one ever walked away from the accident. There were never any survivors. After the last firey accident the main structure of the mill was destroyed. So many had died that town officals decided that the old windmill was too deadly to allow rebuilding. Today all that remains of the building is a small square cabin that was once part of the cursed windmill.
Even today, drivers passing the fork in the road at night sometimes claim to still see the old Windmill standing ominously infront of them. Others claim to momentarily loose control of their cars when trying to negotiate the turn. The current owners of the property have posted quotations from the Bible on the site in hopes of warding off the evil curse that haunts the land on which the windmill once stood.
It remains
to be seen if the ghostly windmill's hunger for blood has been satisfied. Drive very carefully past this fork in the road at night.
