Allentown, Pennsylvania Ghost Tales I have heard stories about Sacred Heart Hospital. There have been sightings of patients roaming around in the night. While an aide follows the apparition, calling after them to return to their bed, the ghost patient disapears. I have also heard rumors of nuns wandering around the grounds of the hospital. I have heard the convent behind the hospital is also very haunted, and employee's are terrified to go there. I have heard reports of elevators opening halfway between floors. As this is spooky, I have only had one minor encounter. Everyday as I travel down one of the hallways to an elevator, as I approach one of the hospital's older elevator's, it opens all by itself. The elevator is always empty and the hallway is always empty. I like to think the elevator ghost is a friendly ghost just trying to be of assistace. I have never personally felt uncomfortable in the hospital, but I do know a few people that absolutely hate the night shift at Sacred Heart. Submitted by anonymous       Category: hospital I       recently was driving across the 8th street bridge around 12:00am as I was driving I noticed a man in his early 20's looking down at the road as I drove past the man he toppled right off the bridge I drove around to go under the bridge but no one was there a few days later I was looking through the news paper and saw a picture of a man who recently   jumped off the bridge. The ghosts of this municipality don’t leave anyone unscared. Doubters don't trust in the local ghost stories, but the things that take place here in Allentown during the dark hours will spook you. These are some of the spooky things that have happened here recently. The phantom of a lady with half her head lost was noticed gazing next to Crystal Spring very late at night. When the ghost was perceived it faded away into the air. A female having an axe in her head has repeatedly been made out attempting to say something before dawn on a lawn in Allentown. A wandering phantom is repeatedly observed flickering a lantern in a plastic boat on Catasauqua Lake. Locals here argue that this phantom may be the spirit of a local person who passed away here in Allentown a long time ago.
