A gentleman lacking a head was observed trying to grasp something on the water's edge of Deep Hollow Pond. The viewer fled right after she distinguished the ghost. The phantom   of an old prospector with a big beard and a hook instead of his left hand was noticed climbing out of Jimmy Kane Swamp soaked in slime in the early morning hours. When the observer materialized the ghost ran off. Several of the residents assert this ghost is that of a local who had a house here in Bear Creek some time ago.
