One of the people who live here strongly says that this phantom is perhaps the undeceased phantom of a local resident who used to have a home here in Bear Lake. The ghost of an eight feet tall massive person has now and then been noticed near Sulfur Spring at the stroke of midnight going mad. Several of the folks here claim this ghost is the undeceased spirit of a former Bear Lake resident. The ghost of a female with half her head absent is sometimes perceived dragging a corpse over rocks in State Game Lands Number 197 late at night. A form with a skeleton face in shadowy robes has been said to have been spotted on one or two instances viewing the landscape from the apex of Sweet Hill late in the night. It's been alleged that this particular ghost is that of a local who settled here in Bear Lake some decades ago.
