Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Ghost Tales My family and I set up our camp chairs near the park area close to the bridge where the fireworks are set off.  July 4, 2008 a large statue was roped off by the police and I put my chair right near the rope on the outside. As soon as the fireworks started I saw in my periferal vision an apparition that ran from the front of the statue along side it on the inside of the ropes where you should not be. It happened so fast that I was not sure what I saw at that moment until I looked back behind me to see what it was.  Nothing was there. I then realized that I must have seen a ghost.  It did not have a human form or look like a person. It was small about 4 feet and more like a pool of water with outlines that to me made me feel that is was once a child. I even sensed it's fear from the fireworks. Ghosts are so ordinary in this town; many locals       don’t even think about it any longer. The ghost of a woman with a word engraved into her cheek   has allegedly been noticed on several occasions on the peak of Camelhump very late at night monitoring the surroundings. The ghost of a female with a knife in her heart can often be seen staring at the water by Illicks Mill Dam late in the night. Some of the residents claim this phantom can be the soul of a resident who died here in Bethlehem some decades ago. The spirit of a strapped up female may be distinguished frequently at midnight following a passing Pontiac on a shady road outside Bethlehem. Whatever folks utter, this is a hostile ghost that you shouldn't go trying to locate. A woman clutching her head under her arm has now and then been perceived trying to utter something mid stream in Black River. The ghost of a gentleman with half his head lost is every now and then witnessed picking flowers in the side garden of a house in Bethlehem. It's been declared that this precise ghost may be a famous old days native of Bethlehem. One thing is for sure, it indisputably is a terrifying ghost that is better not disturbed. A decapitated lady is known to have been spotted on frequent occasions scaring folks down beside the shore at Campbell Pond. In any case, this ghost undeniably is creepy; one that you don't want to meet late in the night.
