which was only a few streets away. I told them what happened, and my dad and younger brother went back to the house to check it out.
They checked the entire house from top to bottom. Not a thing was missing or out of place. The house was exactly as I left it. To this day I still cannot figure out what that noise was. It's something I think about all the time! The last and strangest thing that happened in that house is when my three-year-old son

began talking about someone named Kevin. Since we don't know anyone with that name at all, we started questioning him about it. He would tell us he saw

him out the window, especially in a certain area next door where there was an old abandoned house that was boarded up. (The house was eventually knocked down, and a new house built on the lot. ) He didn't seem to be scared of Kevin at all. He would just mention him as if he were part of the family!
None of us ever saw anything in that house. It was just a feeling that maybe we weren't alone. I did look into some of the history of Essington after moving
